About Amy Brimhall
Amy Chalet Brimhall is a New Mexico–based fine artist whose work captures the luminous beauty of the Southwest through a feminine, modern lens. Raised at the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, she draws deeply from nature — desert light, mountain air, wild color — infusing each piece with unexpected neon accents, soft pastels, rich jewel tones, and touches of gold.
With over two decades of experience as a professional photographer, Amy developed a sophisticated understanding of color theory, composition, and light long before stepping fully into painting. In 2020, she made the unapologetic decision to claim her identity as a fine artist and began creating large-scale oil and acrylic works that quickly sold — often before completion.
Amy’s paintings are known for their emotional warmth, layered color stories, and striking yet feminine energy. Her work moves fluidly between fine art and design, making it equally at home in curated galleries, private collections, and thoughtfully designed commercial spaces.
A dedicated educator for over 12 years, Amy has taught hundreds of children and adults, growing her studio from a dining room table to a full three-car garage creative space through six relocations. Her belief is simple: creativity is powerful, transformative, and available to anyone willing to claim it.
In addition to her fine art practice, Amy is expanding into surface pattern design and licensing, with the vision of seeing her work translated into textiles, fashion, home décor, and thoughtfully crafted products. Her designs carry the same signature elements as her paintings — organic movement, elevated color palettes, and a bold yet romantic aesthetic — making them versatile for a wide range of collaborative applications.
Above all, Amy creates work that feels full of light. Inspired by faith, family, natural health, and the beauty of the everyday, her art reflects joy, strength, and feminine resilience. She lives in New Mexico with her husband of 24 years, a chiropractor, and is the mother of four grown children — all creatively inclined artists and musicians in their own right.
Her mission is simple: to create meaningful, collectible work that brings beauty into homes, stores, and spaces around the world.
